Kickstarter Pre-Launch: Covers, Maps, and Getting Ready for Author Nation
Quick update today because: SO MUCH GOOD STUFF. 🦆
Covers in Progress
I’m deep in the cover cave—about 40 hours per cover—testing layouts, nudging typography, and layering textures with Canva Pro. It’s a mix of hard work and pure creative joy. Decision fatigue is real, but the results are finally coming together.
Big Week Ahead
- Nov 2: I’m speaking at my church about David as a worshipper and king, and how Jesus is our one true King—the center of our worship. I’m honored (and prepping notes and scriptures between design sessions!).
- Nov 3: Author Nation Vendor Day.
- Nov 4–7: Author Nation conference. I’m volunteering and I’ll have half a table at ReaderNation to chat about my Kickstarter and share a few fun books.
Headliner: James Patterson.
Classes: author mindset, craft, and author-entrepreneur topics.
Vendors: Draft2Digital, ProWritingAid, Amazon KDP, Kobo, audiobook pros, artists, and more.
It’s going to be a huge week, and while the life-ducks are quacking, I’m steering them in (mostly) the same direction. 😉
Podcast: Covers, Kickstarter, and…Maps!
This week on the podcast I’m digging into:
- Book cover design (what I’m trying and why)
- Kickstarter pre-launch prep
- Fantasy maps (because I commissioned one and I’m giddy about it)
First Look Map Reveal
If you’re at ReaderNation, you’ll get the very first look at the fantasy map of Aramatir. I can’t wait to share it in person!
What’s Next
- Keep refining covers
- Finalize pre-launch assets for Kickstarter
- Finish church talk for Nov 2
- Pack for Author Nation (don’t forget the table banner!)
Thanks for cheering me on!
