Tyrean Martinson / YA Fantasy & Sci-Fi Author

Hi—I’m Tyrean Martinson, a YA fantasy and sci-fi author weaving stories of faith, justice, and the moments when a single choice can change everything.

My books feature griffins, enchanted blades, sword-and-sorcery quests, starships, and coming-of-age heroines and heroes who fight for hope—often discovering that the greatest battles are not just about strength, but about knowing when to walk away, when to stand, and when to step forward.

Years ago, I trained and competed in fencing, an experience that still shapes how I write combat—especially in timing, distance, and decision-making. That same sense of awareness carries into my writing, my walks, and the stories I tell.

I also write poetry, short stories, devotionals, and nonfiction about creativity and storytelling, and host The Truth About Storytelling podcast, where I explore the deeper truths that shape the stories we tell.

As a lifelong word hunter and writing coach, I live on the Washington State Peninsula with my family—where I write between beach walks, laughter, and daydreams of rocket boots and griffin wings.

Why I write:

I’ve been telling stories since I was a kid, inspired by The Hobbit, Narnia, and Star Wars. But it was my faith that taught me stories can heal, inspire, and give us courage when we need it most.

I write to empower my readers and remind all of us that even in the darkest cave, there’s always a way forward—and that joy, truth, and purpose are worth the fight.
