Collections

I write a lot of short bits which live onto become short bits in anthologies, ezines, and magazines. I enjoy writing poems, hint fiction, traditional short stories, and essays. When these short pieces of writing have had their day in the sun of the world, I collect them into books. In the past, I collected books based on the “age” range of the works in them, but my next collections will be based on genre.

“Unique world-building and fascinating characters with strong voices.”

No matter how hard circumstances are, there is hope for survival, even if it means making one simple choice in the right direction or standing up in the face of impossible odds.

But the question remains: What is the right direction and which way is up?

In these 25 Impossible Tales of Survivors, Flawed Heroes, and Annoyed Villains, we meet over 25 characters faced with impossible odds and difficult choices. Each story offers a unique perspective on what it means to be human, to survive, to live with hard choices, to have purpose, to love, to succeed, and to have hope.

These stories are set in near-future, alternative world, and far future science fiction and fantasy worlds. Some characters fly spaceships, and some wield swords. Some characters are everyday people, and some are extremely strange..

CONTENT WARNING: Some of the stories in this book include graphic sword-fighting and fist-fighting. Some contain references to abuse and human trafficking.

Most of these stories end on hopeful notes, but a few of them end with either a sense of “justice” or reckoning.

Amazon

Dragonfold and Other Adventures is a collection of speculative fiction and poetry written by Tyrean Martinson. Many of these stories and poems were previously published in publications like Every Day Fiction, Every Day Poets, Mindflights, Overcoming Adversity: An Anthology for Andrew, and Moon Drenched Fables. Also, many of these stories and poems were featured originally on Tyrean Martinson’s blog in response to blog fests like: A Picture Paints a Thousand Words, Sensational Haiku, Sacrifice Blog Hop, Robot Haiku, and the Lightning Flashed Blog Hop. In addition to these previous publications, new stories and poetry were added to complete the collection along with two excerpts, one from Tyrean’s first novel in The Champion Trilogy. Although many of these selections are short snapshots of character and plot, many readers have found them enjoyable.

“This collection served as my introduction to Ms. Martinson’s work, and I have to say, I hope she keeps writing for a very long time.” – H.G. Estok
