As stated on other pages, I read eclectically. Please choose wisely for your own reading tastes.
The View from the Cheap Seats: Selected Nonfiction by Neil Gaiman is a great collection of non-fiction by Neil Gaiman. I love how he loves writing and reading. The way he discusses creativity in writing and the freedom of reading resonates with me. At the same time, other parts of this book fell flat for me. So, as all collections, there were some parts I loved, some parts I liked, and some parts I could have lived without, but I am glad I read it through. It was interesting and thought-provoking.
The Business of Short Stories: Writing, Submitting, Publishing, and Marketing by Shannon Lawrence is the definitive work on the business of writing short stories. Truly an excellent book and a must for any writer’s shelf.
Seeing Beautiful Again: 50 Devotions to Find Redemption in Every Part of Your Story by Lysa Terkeurst is a beautiful and excellent daily devotional that I found extremely helpful at the beginning of 2022.
